In memory of...

Shamaila Narmeen Fazlur Rahman

(January 22, 1978-October 7, 2001)

"God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon His earth and saw your loving face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. His garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home....."

Shamaila Narmeen Fazlur Rahman

Following announcement was published in national newspapers in Bangladesh on 5th and 6th of November, 2001

On Sunday 7th October, 2001 our beloved daughter and my precious appi Shamaila passed away in a tragic accident in London (inna lillahe-wa-inna-illahi rajeun). Her namaz-e-janaza was held after zohar prayers on Thursday the 11th October at the Gulshan Central Mosque and we buried her alongside her grandfather Late Mr. Fazlur Rahman at the family graveyard at Azimpur. On Friday the 12th, we held her qul khawani after asar prayers at our residence in Gulshan.

We are extremely grateful and extend our sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends and well wishers from all over Bangladesh and around the world, who visited us, phoned us and conveyed condolences, sympathy and comfort, who participated with us in her namaz-e-janaza, who went with us to bury her in her final resting place, who came and prayed with us at her qul khawani, who came to us and stayed by our side and provided us with courage, and to those relatives and friends who knew her and kept reminding us what a wonderful person she was.

We thank all of you for praying for her and for sharing in our grief.

Please forgive us for not being able to thank each one of you personally; we solicit your prayers.

May Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy grant her Heavenly abode and may her soul rest in eternal peace.

Sura Al-Fatihah

The English Translation Of The Holy Qur'an by Abdullah Yusuf Ali :

Surah 1. The Opening

1. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

2. Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;

3. Most Gracious, Most Merciful;

4. Master of the Day of Judgment.

5. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.

6. Show us the straight way,

7. The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace,

those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.
